Our aviary setup
We have built all our own aviaries after using all types of conventional
aviaries we now
favour the suspended setup for a few reasons including better ventilation
in our
hot summers and of course for easier maintenance. Our aviaries are
located under a
canopy of gum trees for sun and weather protection and are surrounded by
native
plantings for added shelter (as well as a source of food when flowering).

When breeding the majority of our birds are paired according to
desired breeding outcomes and housed in separate cages,
complete with breeding box, natural tree branches as perches
to exercise their feet and of course a few NAT- Natural Aviary Toys!
After breeding season they are moved and rested in large flights.
Our birds are provided with fresh food, clean water and seed
on a daily basis
and twice daily when raising young.
Regular worming,
lice prevention and vitamin/mineral
supplements are
administered and calcium blocks
are available to
them at all times.
See 'Birds'
section below for details of our birds diets as well as the
type of birds we
breed. We have birds available for purchase for
most of
the year round, depending on the species.
We have one
other family member other than the birds and
our two
beautiful daughters, that is our Multinational K9
trained guard
dog. He is a beautiful Doberman that constantly
keeps a
protective watch over all our family members,
our property and
aviaries by having full range of the acreage.
Guests are
invited by appointment and enter entirely
at their own
risk as he is trained to protect!
Our Birds
We have been breeding and keeping many species of birds from small to
large
Australian
Parrots to Exotics and everything in between for many years.
Although we
still breed a few Conures, Quakers and Eclectus, we have however chosen
only a few
species to concentrate on and to develop our breeding lines into some
of the best in
the country. Our passion is definitely for the breeding and development
of genetically
strong, healthy birds for both breeding and companion pets.
Cockatiels

We are
concentrating on the following mutations and have both young and mature
birds
in the following
mutations in combinations of Pearl, Pied, Lutino, Grey and Cinnamon.
PASTELFACE : WHITEFACE
: PASTELSILVER : SPANGLE :
OLIVE
Handreared Pets and Breeders are available
all year round!!
African Lovebirds
 We are
currently breeding and developing most colours in 5 of the 9 Lovebird
species.
MASKED : FISCHERS
: WHITEFACED PEACHFACE : NYASSA : BLACKCHEEKS
Due to an
encounter with unscrupulous people prior to installing our security system
and
purchasing our
police-trained guard dog, our Nyassa and Blackcheeks are NOT kept at
our property. We
are still breeding these mutations to increase numbers and quality
however they are
now housed at a friends home and are not available for sale yet.
Diet
All our birds
are fed on both seed and a fresh food diet all year round. A typical days
diet
consists of a
top quality seed mix including grey sunflower seed as well as sprouted seed,
and a mixed
combination of at least four of the following fresh fruits or vegies:
Apple, celery,
silverbeet, endive, carrot, sweet potato, corn, passionfruit, zucchini,
parsley, pear,
and occasionally cooked egg yolk or egg and biscuit mix.
Prior to
breeding and during breeding all our birds are given vitamin supplements
either
sprinkled on
their food or in their water supply as well as calcium drops twice a week.
When our birds
have chicks in the nest they are also given multigrain bread twice daily.
Cuttlefish/mineral grit and fresh water is available at all times.
